Advocacy
Resident's Council
Fairvern has a Resident's Council established to discuss pertinent issues related to the Home, and to provide our residents with a strong line of communication between them and administration. An executive made up of residents is elected annually by the residents. All residents are encouraged to attend the monthly meetings and discuss their ideas and any concerns they may have. As well, they talk to our Chef about suggested meal choices, and provide input into our monthly activity calendars. This group is supported by our Life Enrichment Coordinator with the help of a few volunteers and/or family members.
Family Council
A number of family members have formed a Family Council at Fairvern and meet on a regular basis to support one another, provide input into the operation of the Home and benefit from educational opportunities as they relate to long-term care issues. New family members are always welcome and encouraged to attend the meetings if they can.
Compliments, Complaints or Comments
Fairvern values your opinion in these areas as they are a way of measuring, evaluating and continually improving the service we provide.
"Opportunity for Improvement" forms are available inside the front door of the Home. All signed "Opportunity for Improvement" forms submitted are responded to in writing by a member of our management team. We encourage residents and/or families to voice their concerns to the Charge Nurse on duty, who will either deal with them directly or notify the appropriate department supervisor. We are anxious to resolve any concerns that you have! If you still have concerns, the Director of Resident Care or Administrator can be contacted.
